The short answer
Digital marketing in Sunnybank Hills starts by separating the customers who already know your name from the ones driving in from the rest of Brisbane. Different channels reach each group. We plan search, paid ads and social around that split rather than around a package.
One shopfront, two customer bases
Sunnybank Hills is the commercial centre of Brisbane's southside Asian business community. Much of the trading day around the Shoppingtown, Market Square and Pinelands Road happens in Mandarin and Cantonese as well as English, with Vietnamese, Korean and Taiwanese businesses through the same tenancies. What changes marketing is not the language itself. It is that one shopfront serves two very different groups.
The first lives nearby, in Sunnybank, Runcorn, Calamvale, Stretton or Robertson. They found you through someone they trust, may never search your category in English, and already have your name by the time they look you up.
The second drives in from Carindale, Springfield or the northside because this precinct is where you go for the food, the grocers and the specialists. They have never heard of you, and they searched a category or followed a friend's recommendation into a list of options.
Most owners fund marketing for one group and quietly ignore the other.
Work out which audience you are actually short of
Spend a month finding where your customers come from before choosing a channel. A postcode field on the booking form is enough.
If most of your trade is the local group, paid advertising is usually the wrong first spend, because you are buying an audience you already have. The money belongs in what people check after a recommendation: correct hours, photos from this year, a review count that keeps moving, and a site that looks current. That is local search work rather than campaign work, and it holds up when the search happens in Chinese, since your profile category is stored as an identifier rather than a word.
If you need the drive in customer, the job is different. They do not know your name, so brand search cannot help. You have to appear in the category, which means terms carrying the city rather than the suburb. Facebook and Instagram carry food, retail and anything visual, and Google Ads buys the time ranking takes. Send that traffic to a landing page about the one thing you want them to drive for.
Pick one spelling of your name and use it everywhere
This is the most common fixable problem in the precinct. Many businesses here trade under a Chinese name and an English one, and the English version is a transliteration typed differently by different people. One spelling on the sign. Another on the Google profile. A third on Facebook, a fourth on the delivery apps.
Two things go wrong. Reviews, mentions and links split across versions rather than building against one business. And the customer told your name out loud types a guess, finds nothing, and goes elsewhere.
The fix is unglamorous. Choose the spelling on your signage and make every listing match it exactly, punctuation included. Put the Chinese name in the profile description and on the website in the actual characters, so both names sit together on a page a search engine can read. Then name the other spellings somewhere on the site, since that page can rank for the guesses.
One related setting worth deciding rather than defaulting: language targeting in Google Ads follows the language someone uses Google in, not the one they speak. Plenty of customers here read English fine with the phone set to Chinese, and an English only setting excludes them.
Our own limit, plainly. We write and build in English, anything else is written or signed off by a translator or your staff, and we do not run WeChat, Xiaohongshu or the other in language platforms.

How we work
Every account is created in your name.
Google Ads, Meta, analytics and pixel history belong to your business and transfer on request, which is not true everywhere.
Search and social are planned together.
We are a Meta Business Partner and Google Ads Certified, with both in the same office, so the plans use the same numbers instead of competing for credit.
We say what we cannot do.
The parts of this market an Australian agency cannot run get named rather than invoiced for.
"Our growth is coming from English speaking customers. Should we stop marketing to the community?"
No. That base is your review volume, your repeat trade and your referrals, and it costs little to keep. Fund the new audience without starving the old one.
