Website design in Newstead

For the businesses still working behind a roller door, and the ones that took the warehouse next door. Built in house by developers you can ring.

The short answer

We design and build websites for Newstead businesses on WordPress, Shopify, Webflow or custom code, from a five page site through to an online store. The team of 32 is in house, the business is Australian owned, hosting sits in Sydney, and there is no lock in contract. Rated 4.9 from 96 reviews.

The suburb kept its sheds

Newstead did the warehouse conversion better than most of Brisbane, but it never swapped one economy for the other. Walk the back half of Longland Street, or Commercial Road toward Breakfast Creek, and there are still fabricators, auto specialists, trade suppliers, signage shops, equipment hire and showrooms where the stock sits on a concrete slab. The studios moved in upstairs. The roller doors stayed.

Those two get found in completely different ways. The studio gets found by name. The supplier gets found by someone standing on a job in Hamilton or Bowen Hills at 7am, thumbing a search on a cracked phone, who rings whichever result loads first and shows a number. Nobody is comparing your typography against the studio in Teneriffe. They want the number, the hours, whether you have the part, and whether a ute fits in your yard.

What we get right for a business with a yard

Phone numbers that dial on tap from the header of every page. A page per service and per product line, so a search for one specific thing lands somewhere specific. Real photographs of the workshop and the stock, because a supplier showing only stock imagery reads as a middleman. Hours, including the Saturday question. Forms four fields long that reach a phone as well as an inbox. Underneath, a build that survives a weak connection: compressed images, no video header, usable before the fonts load.

We build on WordPress when your team edits things, Shopify when you sell online, and Webflow when the site is mostly fixed pages. More on website design.

In a warehouse suburb, your address block is a conversion element

Half the addresses around here are units inside a converted building with one street number, six tenants, an entrance facing a different road to the one in the address, and a car park reached through a lane. Someone who drives in from Chermside, circles twice and gives up does not ring to complain. They ring the next result.

Write the arrival, not the address. Which street the door faces. What the building looks like in plain words: red brick, blue awning, second driveway past the corner. Where to park and for how long. Whether there is a loading bay or room to swing a trailer. If deliveries go elsewhere, put that on the page instead of in an email afterwards.

Then match it in your Google Business Profile character for character, unit number format included. Two spellings of one address across the web is a common reason a map pin underperforms a business doing everything else right.

Where our pin sits, and why it doesn't change your build

Straight up: our office is at 1 Cheshire Street, Pallara, about 25 kilometres south of Newstead, and it is the only one. Search "web designer near me" at Gasworks Plaza and we will not be in the map pack. Distance from the searcher decides that and nobody sells a way around it.

What it does not change is the build, which runs over calls and a staging link you can open whenever you like. What it changes is how often somebody from our team is physically in your building. If that needs to be more than a handful of times, say so early and we plan the visits in.

The rest of the inner north

The same team builds for Teneriffe, Fortitude Valley, Bowen Hills, New Farm and Hamilton, plus Brisbane and Pallara where we sit. The rest is on service areas.

How a build runs

  1. We look at what you have

The current site, where enquiries come from, and the jobs you keep turning away.

  2. We scope and price it

Fixed page count, fixed number, dates in writing.

  3. You watch it get built

Staging link from week one, so you review pages instead of status updates.

  4. We keep it running

Hosting, updates and changes after launch, month to month.

Why the build lands here

Developers, not template assemblers.

AWS certified, and the people who build the site run the servers under it. We have shipped booking systems and stock enquiry tools for clients who could not buy what they needed off the shelf.

Australian hosting, support that answers.

Sydney data centre, and managed support replies in 1 to 3 hours.

Fixed scope, no lock in.

The proposal number is the invoice number, and anything after launch is month to month.

"We already have a website."

Then the question is whether the site is the problem or the traffic is. Sometimes it is neither, and the issue is what happens after somebody fills in the form. We say which before quoting.
