The short answer
A removalist needs a fast mobile website that explains how jobs are priced, a quote form that captures access details and inventory, separate pages for local, interstate and specialist moves, and a well reviewed Google Business Profile. We build the site, run local SEO and set up Google Ads with call tracking.
Removalists we work with
Moving businesses we work with include Desi Removalist and PicDrop Removal. Since 2009 we have also built websites and run local search for many service businesses whose customers find them on a phone and call the same day, including a Brisbane heavy towing company. Plenty of moves cross state lines, and so does our work: we deliver remotely to businesses in every Australian state and territory, by video call and phone. Victorian businesses can also meet us at our sister company's Victorian office, by appointment.
Moving searches fall into four groups
Every move starts with a search, but the searches differ a lot depending on the job. Planning a removalist site starts with sorting them, because each group needs its own page and its own kind of proof.
Local moves
"removalists brisbane", "removalists near me", "removalists logan", "furniture removalists [suburb]". These are the highest volume and the most competitive. Customers expect your hourly rate or how it is worked out, the size of your trucks, how many movers come and how soon you can book. The map pack matters more than anything here, which makes your Google Business Profile part of the job.
Interstate and regional moves
"brisbane to sydney removalists", "interstate removalists brisbane", "backloading brisbane to melbourne". These buyers plan further ahead and compare more carefully. They want transit times, how backloading or shared loads work, what happens if dates change and how goods are protected over a long trip. Each route you run regularly deserves a page with real detail about that route.
Specialist jobs
"piano removalists brisbane", "pool table movers", "office relocation brisbane", "pod storage". Smaller volumes, better margins and fewer competitors with a proper page. If your team moves pianos or relocates offices, a page with photos of those jobs and an explanation of the gear you use often ranks faster than the broad local terms.
Price checks
"removalist cost brisbane", "how much do removalists charge per hour", "cheap removalists". People searching this way are close to booking and want a straight answer. A page that explains your pricing model and the things that push a quote up (stairs, long carries, no lift, a piano, a tight street) wins trust that a "call for a quote" button does not.
The quote page wins or loses the job
A removalist site has one page that matters more than the rest. If the quote form is long, vague or broken on a phone, every ranking gain upstream is wasted. This is what we put on it:
- Move date with a flexible date option, because flexible customers are easier to fit in.
- From and to suburbs, property type and number of bedrooms.
- Access at both ends: stairs, lift, driveway or street parking, long walk to the truck.
- A short inventory with tick boxes for large items such as pianos, pool tables, fridges and gym equipment.
- Optional photo upload so you can quote from pictures rather than a site visit.
- Packing, boxes and storage as add-on options.
- A tap-to-call button that stays visible, for people who would rather talk.
- A clear note on what happens next and how fast you respond.
Beside the form we place the proof a mover needs: recent reviews that mention care with furniture, photos of your actual trucks and crew, your ABN, and a plain explanation of what insurance or transit cover you offer, linked to the actual terms. We never overstate cover in the copy. More on builds at web design Brisbane.
Reviews and your Google Business Profile
For local moves, most clicks go to the map results, and those are heavily shaped by reviews, categories and how complete your profile is. Removalists have an advantage here: every job ends with a customer standing in their new home, often relieved. That is the moment to ask for a review, ideally by text message with a direct link, and to ask the customer to mention the suburbs they moved between. Reviews that name places help the profile show up for those areas.
Profile photos should be your trucks with signage, your crew on jobs and finished loads, uploaded regularly. Service areas should match where you really work. Our local SEO Brisbane page explains how we manage this month to month.
Google Ads for removalists
Moving demand bunches up around lease ends, school holidays and the end of the month, so ad budgets should follow the calendar rather than run flat. We set up call tracking so you can see which searches led to booked jobs, schedule ads around the hours you answer the phone, and block searches that waste money: removalist jobs, truck hire, trailer hire, free boxes and DIY moving tips. Interstate route campaigns run separately from local ones because the value of a job is so different. See Google Ads Brisbane.
The nearest proof we have
We haven't published a removalist case study yet. Delta Heavy Towing is a towing and heavy haulage client, not a removalist, but it is the closest published case study for a transport service that customers find by searching on a phone. When rank tracking started in Brisbane on 10 September 2025, 2 tracked keywords were on page one. As of 17 September 2026, 77 of 148 tracked keyword positions across Brisbane and Toowoomba were on page one, with 40 in the top 3 (source: SE Ranking rank tracking, Google Australia). The approach is the same one we would bring to a moving business: an audit, real operating detail in every page and steady content. Read the Delta Heavy Towing case study.
What it costs to get going
Most five page brochure sites we build land between $900 and $2,500, quoted as a fixed price. Ongoing care after launch starts from $249 a month. SEO plans start from $900 a month, month to month with 30 days notice. A free 45-minute discovery call with Amann Jhamb comes first, then a written quote. Book a time or see SEO pricing.
One practical tip: many moves end with an end of lease clean, so a referral arrangement with a local cleaner can be worth more than another ad. Our page on marketing for cleaning companies covers that side.
