Website design in Blacktown

For businesses selling across an LGA the size of a city, to customers who got here from everywhere.

The short answer

We design and build websites for Blacktown businesses on WordPress, Shopify or Webflow, including builds that run in two languages. Hosting sits in a Sydney data centre, support answers in 1 to 3 hours, and there is no lock in contract. Our 32 staff are all in house.

One council area, forty odd suburbs, and a business community that got here from everywhere

Two facts shape almost every site we build out this way.

The first is scale. The City of Blacktown is one of the largest local government areas in Australia by population, running from Seven Hills in the south to Riverstone and Marsden Park in the north. A customer in Kings Park and one in Schofields are half an hour apart on a weekday, so the first thing a visitor needs is whether you come to them or whether they get in the car.

The second is who your customers are. This is one of the most culturally diverse business communities in the country and the trade reflects it: grocers, restaurants, tutoring centres, migration and legal practices, mobile trades, family run clinics near Blacktown Hospital, workshops along Prospect Highway. Plenty of them grew on referral inside a community first, which changes the job the site does. It is rarely the moment of discovery. It is the moment someone checks whether the business a friend recommended is real and worth ringing, and a site built to confirm a recommendation looks nothing like one built to persuade a stranger.

The details that do the work on a site like this

If the site is a verification step, the boring facts are the conversion, so they go where a visitor lands rather than three clicks in.

The owner's name and a photo of actual staff. Languages spoken, stated as a fact rather than a marketing line. Real trading hours, including the ones that shift around religious holidays, since a wrong hour on a Sunday costs a customer. Licence numbers, ABN and insurance as text. A tap to call button that stays put on a phone. Then the service area question answered outright: where you travel, and whether you charge for the drive to the far end of the LGA. Retailers and food businesses need the opposite, so parking, the nearest station and where the entrance is.

Most builds here run on WordPress, with Shopify for anyone selling products, hosted in a Sydney data centre.

Five real service area pages beat forty eight thin ones

Every business covering this LGA hits the same question, and it usually gets answered in one of two wrong ways.

The first is the footer suburb list. Forty odd suburb names crammed under the copyright line, sometimes linked. Google has read that pattern for fifteen years and a customer reads it as filler.

The second is worse. An agency sells you a page for every suburb, generated from one template with the name swapped. That is the definition of a doorway page, it is against Google's guidelines, and when those pages get filtered they can take the rest of the site with them. It also produces sentences nobody would write, like the one about proudly serving the residents of Marayong.

What works is smaller and harder. Pick the four to six areas where you actually want more work and give each a page that could not have been written about anywhere else. A job you did there, with a photo. The travel time from your base. Whether there is a callout fee. The thing that genuinely changes in that area, which for a plumber is the age of the housing in Seven Hills against the new estates around Schofields.

Then let one honest coverage page carry the rest of the LGA, with a map and a plain statement of how far you go. Five pages a person would read beat forty eight nobody will, and they still work in twelve months. That is where the build and local search meet.

If your customers read in two languages, build for both properly

A translate widget in the corner is not a second language site. It produces machine text Google will not index and tells a customer you did the minimum.

A real two language build gives each language its own URLs, navigation and page titles, with hreflang tags so the right version is served and a switch in the header rather than the footer. Start with the home page, the main service page and contact, then add more if the traffic earns it.

Our limit, said plainly: we write and build in English, and anything else is written or checked by your translator or someone on your team who signs off the wording.

Where we are, and what it changes about a build

One office, at 1 Cheshire Street, Pallara in Brisbane, and no Sydney branch. For a build it changes less than people expect: a staging link in week one, screen shares recorded for whoever missed them, and Managed Support answering in 1 to 3 hours once you are live. What you give up is someone sitting in your office on a Tuesday. Your map position is unaffected either way, since it comes from your own pin rather than ours.

The rest of the LGA and beyond

The market changes every few suburbs out here, so these are separate pages rather than one page with the names swapped.

What a build looks like from your side

  1. We go through what you have now

Where enquiries come from, what people do before they leave, and which pages earn their place.

  2. Fixed scope, fixed price

Page list, functions, who writes what, and a date, agreed before design starts.

  3. You watch it get built

Staging link from week one, feedback in writing on the page it belongs to.

  4. Launch, then training

An hour with whoever updates the site, recorded so the next person can watch it.

What working with us includes

You can change it without booking us.

Hours, prices, staff and service pages stay editable, and we train someone on your side before handover.

Fixed scope and fixed price.

The page list is agreed before anyone designs anything, so the number at the end is the number from the start.

Speed is treated as a feature.

Most of this traffic is on a phone on the train line or in a carpark, so we build for that and test on it.

"Our last site was built by someone we know and never got finished."

We hear it often. We will look at what exists and say whether it is worth continuing or starting again, with the reason rather than the pitch.
