Website design in Southport

For practices where the site has to survive the ninety seconds after somebody is handed your name.

The short answer

We design and build websites for Southport businesses, from single site practices near the courthouse through to booking sites and online stores. Builds are fixed scope and fixed price, hosted in Australia, and handed over with every login in your name. AR Digital Solutions has 32 in house staff and no lock in contracts.

The blocks between the courthouse and the Broadwater run on referrals

Southport is where the Gold Coast keeps its serious business. The courts sit on Hinze Street, and the firms that work in them have never moved far from the door: solicitors, barristers' chambers, mediators and conveyancers packed into the towers and walk ups along Nerang Street, Scarborough Street and Short Street, with the accountants, planners, migration agents and brokers who feed off the same client base.

A few hundred metres east, Australia Fair handles the retail trade, Chinatown runs its restaurants around Young and Davenport Streets, and the towers on Marine Parade look across the Broadwater. North west along Parklands Drive is Gold Coast University Hospital, with Griffith University beside it and allied health suites filling every second building nearby.

Labrador sits north, Main Beach south, the Bundall office parks inland, then Ashmore and Surfers Paradise. The light rail runs through the middle, so plenty of clients arrive on foot from a tram stop.

For most of these businesses the website is not how they get found. It is how they get checked.

A referral checks your website before they ring you

Here is the sequence that actually happens. Someone gets your name from a colleague, a GP or the duty lawyer, types the firm name into their phone, reads for under two minutes, then decides whether to call or go back and ask for another name. That decision is what your site is for, and it changes what belongs on it.

Name the people. A practice is a person, and the visitor wants to know who they will be dealing with and what that person has handled before. A team page with faces and real detail beats any "about our firm" paragraph. Stock photography of gavels does the opposite.

Name the work in the words clients use. Not "commercial and civil matters" but the thing they are frightened about at eleven at night. People type "caveat", "parenting orders", "conveyancing Southport". Each deserves a page rather than a line in a list.

Say something about money. You may not be able to quote a fixed fee, and in plenty of matters no honest firm can. You can still say what a first appointment costs. Silence on fees reads as expensive.

Then the practical things. Parking in central Southport is the first question a new client asks, so put the building, the entrance and the parking on the contact page. Put a tap to call number in the header.

We build on WordPress, Webflow or Shopify, and a campaign pointed at one service gets its own landing page. Health and disability providers need a different build, covered on our NDIS website design in Southport page.

Proximity barely separates anyone in a postcode this dense

Southport packs competing businesses into a few blocks, so distance does almost no sorting when eleven firms sit inside eight hundred metres of each other. What separates them is the primary category, the review flow and whether every directory agrees on the phone number. That is local SEO work, and the profile stays in your account.

Our own pin is at 1 Cheshire Street, Pallara, an hour up the M1. It is the only address we have, and renting a suite on Scarborough Street for a second listing would breach Google's guidelines. So we do not show up in the Southport map pack, and we are not pretending otherwise.

Where else we build on this part of the Coast

The same team builds for businesses in Labrador, Main Beach, Ashmore, Bundall and Surfers Paradise, and citywide from our website design on the Gold Coast page.

How a build runs

  1. We read what you have

The current site, where enquiries come from, and what the firms above you do differently.

  2. We fix the scope and the price

Pages, content, integrations and dates, written down. The number does not move unless the brief does.

  3. We build on a staging link

You watch it take shape and comment as it goes.

  4. We launch and stay on

Australian hosting in a Sydney data centre, updates handled, Managed Support answering in 1 to 3 hours.

Why practices here end up with us

Fixed scope, fixed price.

You get the number before we start and it holds. Nobody finds a variation in week six because the brief was vague in week one.

Everything in your name.

Domain, host, analytics and profile sit in your accounts from day one, so leaving costs a phone call.

The people who build it also run the servers.

We are AWS certified and hosting is not outsourced, so whoever fixes a problem wrote the thing that broke.

"Our practice manager updates the site."

Good, keep it that way. We build so a non technical person can change a bio, a fee or an opening hour without ringing us, and we train them first.
