Visa Point: an SEO audit and content plan for a Brisbane migration agency

Visa Point Studies and Immigration is a registered migration agency in Brisbane. Our team ran a full SEO audit of its website and turned the findings into a developer plan and new page content. We track 118 keywords for the business. Alongside the search work we designed the website.

The short version

When rank tracking started on 28 May 2026, 10 tracked keywords were on page one of Google. As of 17 September 2026, 15 are on page one and 66 are in the top 30, out of 118 tracked. (Source: SE Ranking rank tracking, Google Australia.)

What we did for Visa Point

  • Website designPlanned, designed and built by our own team, then kept up to date.
  • SEOTechnical fixes, content and links, reported by enquiries not rankings.

What we delivered

Visa Point did not hire one service. They hired a team that does website design and SEO under one roof, so nothing falls between suppliers. We designed and built the website, structured for search from the first wireframe rather than optimised after the fact. The SEO programme runs on top of that: technical fixes, content written for the searches that actually turn into enquiries, and links earned in the client's own market.

Because one team does all of it, the site, the search work and the ads pull in the same direction.

The client

Visa Point helps people with study and visa matters from its Brisbane base. It’s a registered migration agency, not a law firm, and that difference shapes how it can describe itself online.

The challenge

Brisbane migration searches are crowded. Many of the highest volume terms include the word “lawyer”, and a migration agency has to be careful with those. The MARA Code of Conduct sets limits on how agents present themselves, so chasing lawyer keywords on the website isn’t a simple option.

Migration pages also fall into Google’s “your money or your life” group. Content has to be accurate and clear, because readers are often making decisions with a lot riding on them.

What our team did

A full SEO audit

We audited the technical side of the site as well as the on-page content and meta data, then listed the gaps and opportunities we found. We also checked for anything that might stop the business being recommended by ChatGPT and other AI search tools.

A developer specification

The technical fixes went into a developer specification, so the web developer had a clear list to work from rather than a long report to interpret.

A content pack

We wrote copy for three new landing pages and a fees page, plus revisions to the home page. We also wrote a 12-question FAQ set, written so Google’s AI Overviews can pick up clear answers.

A realistic keyword plan

In September 2026 the client shared a list of 24 Brisbane keywords, many of them lawyer terms. We sorted that list by what the site can realistically win. Agent terms stayed in the website plan, while the lawyer terms were marked as better reached through the map results and directories. National terms were moved down the list for later. That kept the plan inside the agency’s professional limits.

Results

28 May 2026 (tracking starts): 10 tracked keywords on page one

As of 17 September 2026:

  • 15 tracked keywords on page one, out of 118 tracked
  • 66 tracked keywords in the top 30
  • #2 for “visa point”, the business name (about 320 searches a month)
  • #4 for “student visa brisbane” (about 10 searches a month), up from #8
  • #7 for “best migration agent in Brisbane” (about 40 searches a month)
  • #8 for “protection visa brisbane” (about 10 searches a month)
  • #2 for “schedule 3 waivers brisbane”

The page-one gain is modest so far. The bigger signal is the 66 keywords in the top 30, which gives the new content a lot of terms that are within reach.

Fun fact

The world’s first website (info.cern.ch, 1991) is still online, restored by CERN. It’s a plain page of text and links, and it still does its job, which is a good reminder that clear beats fancy.

Marketing tip (lesson learned)

Before you chase a keyword, check you’re allowed to use it. For migration agents, that means reading your target list against the MARA Code of Conduct first. It’s far cheaper to drop a keyword on day one than to rewrite pages later.

This project started with an SEO audit, which is often the best first step. You can read more about marketing for legal and immigration businesses or our SEO services in Brisbane, and see more results on the all case studies page.
