SAI World Travel: off-page SEO and link building for a Brisbane travel agency

SAI World Travel is a Brisbane travel agency serving the South Asian community across Australia. Our team built its off-page SEO and link building strategy, with a clear plan for earning relevant links over 13 weeks. Alongside the search work we designed the website.

The short version

In January 2024, 11 tracked keywords were on page one of Google. As of 17 September 2026, 15 of 67 tracked keywords are on page one, including #2 for “indian travel agents” (about 170 searches a month) and #7 for “OCI Application” (about 6,600 searches a month). What we did for SAI World Travel

  • Website designPlanned, designed and built by our own team, then kept up to date.
  • SEOTechnical fixes, content and links, reported by enquiries not rankings.

What we delivered

SAI World Travel did not hire one service. They hired a team that does website design and SEO under one roof, so nothing falls between suppliers. We designed and built the website, structured for search from the first wireframe rather than optimised after the fact. The SEO programme runs on top of that: technical fixes, content written for the searches that actually turn into enquiries, and links earned in the client's own market.

Because one team does all of it, the site, the search work and the ads pull in the same direction.

The client

SAI World Travel books flights and tour packages, and helps with government document services such as OCI card applications and Indian passport renewals. Its customers are mostly members of the South Asian diaspora living in Australia.

The challenge

Travel is a crowded space online. Big booking sites and airlines dominate many searches, so a local agency has to win on trust and relevance.

On-page work only goes so far in a market like this. Links from relevant, trusted websites help Google see a business as a real authority, but chasing links carelessly can do more harm than good.

What our team did

We studied the sites ranking for the agency’s key searches and where their links come from. That showed which kinds of websites were worth approaching.

Relevance before authority

Our prospect scoring system (We call it Priority Value) ranks each link opportunity. A relevant travel or community website counts for more than a high domain authority score on its own.

White-hat outreach only

We wrote outreach templates and a quality checklist for every prospect. Anchor text is tracked with alerts, so the link profile doesn’t lean too hard on one phrase.

A 13-week roadmap and tracker

The strategy came as a Word document with a 13-week execution roadmap. A companion Excel workbook covers the opportunity list, outreach tracking, anchor text, a monthly report template and a disavow watchlist.

Results

16 January 2024 (tracking starts): 11 tracked keywords on page one, including #1 for “indian travel agent” and “indian travel agents melbourne”.

As of 17 September 2026:

  • 15 of 67 tracked keywords on page one, and 41 in the top 30
  • #2 for “indian travel agent” and “indian travel agents” (about 170 searches a month each)
  • #2 for “indian travel agents brisbane” (about 30 searches a month)
  • #4 for “indian passport renewal brisbane” (about 170 searches a month)
  • #7 for “OCI Application” (about 6,600 searches a month)
  • #6 for “Travel Agent Bundaberg” (about 110 searches a month) and #10 for “Travel Agent Mackay” (about 140 searches a month)

Not everything moved up. Some core terms that were #1 in 2024 now sit at #2, and “travel agents brisbane” is no longer on page one. The gains are in newer searches: document services and regional Queensland towns.

Fun fact

Google’s search engine was originally called “BackRub” (1996), named for the way it analysed backlinks.

Marketing tip (lesson learned)

Before you ask other websites for links, check your own Google reviews and reply to any that are waiting. Site owners often look you up before they say yes, and a tidy review profile makes that first impression easier.

Our team offers SEO services in Brisbane that include off-page work, and local SEO for businesses that serve specific towns. If you’re not sure where to start, an SEO audit is a good first step. Browse all case studies for more.
