Migration Doctors: local SEO and content for a Gold Coast migration agency

Migration Doctors is an Australian migration agency with a website at migrationdoctorsau.com, and its search focus is the Gold Coast. Our team work on the agency’s search visibility, with a focus on content and the local searches that people use when they’re looking for help with a visa. Alongside the search work we designed the website and run the Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns.

What we did for Migration Doctors

  • Website designDesigned and built in-house, structured for search from day one.
  • SEOOn-page, technical and content work with dated rank tracking.
  • Google AdsSearch campaigns managed month to month with plain-English reporting.
  • Meta AdsMeta campaigns run alongside the search work.

What we delivered

Migration Doctors did not hire one service. They hired a team that does website design, SEO, Google Ads and Meta Ads under one roof, so nothing falls between suppliers. We designed and built the website, structured for search from the first wireframe rather than optimised after the fact. The SEO programme runs on top of that: technical fixes, content written for the searches that actually turn into enquiries, and links earned in the client's own market. We also run the paid side, Google Ads for people already searching and Meta Ads for the people who are not yet, and report both in the same plain-English update as the organic numbers.

The result is a marketing setup the client can call one number about.

The client

Migration Doctors helps people with Australian visa matters, and the searches we target centre on the Gold Coast. Like most migration businesses, its clients are making big life decisions, so trust matters well before anyone picks up the phone.

The challenge

Migration advice is a “your money or your life” topic in Google’s eyes. Search engines expect accurate information from sources they can trust, and people comparing agents tend to read carefully before they make contact.

Local competition is also tight. Searches like “migration agents Gold Coast” put a handful of businesses in the map results and a mix of agents and law firms below them. A smaller agency has to be clear about where it works and what it does to earn a spot in either place.

What our team did

Content was the main piece of work. We wrote content for the site as Word documents so the client could review every page before anything went live. Where we produced a larger batch of pages, we ran checks for repeated titles and repeated body text, so no two pages ended up competing for the same search.

We also set up rank tracking in SE Ranking for Gold Coast search terms, from plain “migration agent” searches to the “best migration agents” style that people use when they’re comparing options. A smaller set of Brisbane terms is tracked separately so we can see how far the site reaches outside its home area.

Results

Tracking data for this project is only available from 10 September 2026, so this is a current snapshot rather than a before and after story.

  • 6 of 44 tracked keywords in the top 3, and 14 in the top 30
  • #1 for “migration agent in Gold Coast” (about 590 searches a month)
  • #2 for “migration agents Gold Coast” (about 480 searches a month)
  • #2 for “best migration lawyers in Gold Coast”
  • #3 for “best migration agents Gold Coast”
  • #25 for “migration agents Brisbane” (about 330 searches a month), outside the home market

SE Ranking flags these top spots as map results, so the Google Business Profile listing is doing a lot of the work. That’s typical for local service searches, and it’s why the website and the listing need to tell the same story.

Fun fact

Google’s Knowledge Graph launched in 2012 with the slogan “things, not strings”, the shift from matching words to understanding entities. A business with a clear name, address and service area is exactly the kind of “thing” Google can place on a map.

Marketing tip (lesson learned)

Search your main service plus your city on your phone this week and note whether you show up in the map results or the list below it. If it’s the map, check your Google Business Profile categories, hours and service description match your website word for word.

Migration businesses have their own rules and their own search habits, which is why we have a page on marketing for legal and immigration businesses. If the map results matter most to you, start with local SEO, and Gold Coast businesses can read more about SEO on the Gold Coast. You can also browse all case studies.
